Established in 2000, Environmental Information Center of Guangdong Province is an affiliated institution of Guangdong Provincial Environmental Protection Department. The center consists of four departments, namely general administration department, network department, development department and e-government department. The Center is home to a number of experienced systems analysts, senior engineers, senior programmers, and network engineers who are both familiar with environment management in China and proficient in the latest IT technology, especially in the development and management of computer application systems development, geographic information systems (GIS) application development, database applications, automation control, computer networks and environmental management. In 2005, the Center obtained the "double-soft certification" (certification of software product and software company), becoming one of the few government information centers equipped with this certification. In recent years, the center has undertaken dozens of major research and development projects on information systems, leading to a number of indigenous intellectual property rights in the field of environmental information technology products. Our aim is "to increase our strength and strive for excellence through scientific management and efficient service".
